Na Cuasaighe Miniatures

         Welcome to Na Cuasaighe Miniatures.

     First, to explain "Na Cuasaighe"....

Pronounced...na coo sha ha.... it is Old Irish and means...

"The Hollows".

The name I gave to my century old cottage that snuggles quietly on the side of a mountain in Drumkerran in County Leitrim...

and so called because of all the dips and gullies that shape and mould the land... but especially to one particular hollow...

"The Faery Hollow".

It cuts down to the left of the field behind the old cottage with a bubbling, energetic stream that flows down to a small dark pond that is frequented by wild ducks...

The Faery Hollow is canopied by trees and when I sit in there alone, it is like being transported into another world...

hearing only the chuckle of the busy stream and the breeze tickling the leaves above, you could almost believe that the "Wee Folk" abide amongst the wild flowers and trees...playing hide and go seek between the stems of

Yellow Iris that flourish at the ponds edge...

but that's another story...!

The following is mine...

I have loved horses all my life and remember my first introduction to them was as a child, helping with the donkeys & ponies that were used for beach rides...that was it seems, a lifetime ago...

Over the years I have worked in several different areas of the equine industry, however, my first real addiction to the "minis" started as recently as 2003!

Here I am now, living in a beautiful part of Southern Ireland, with wonderful scenery in every direction and being able to indulge my passion of miniature horses & ponies...I hope you enjoy what you see here...you never know you may end up as enamoured with these wonderful little people as I am...
